An All Progressives Congress chieftain, Chief Emmanuel Eboh, has declared support for the re-election bid of Senator Ned Nwoko, warning that internal opposition within the party could undermine peace and development in Delta North Senatorial District.

Eboh, a former Delta State civil commissioner, made the remarks during an interview in Abuja on Wednesday where he insisted that the senator still enjoys widespread backing across Anioma and should be allowed to focus on legislative work rather than political battles ahead of 2027.

According to him, “any opposition to Senator Nwoko’s second-term ambition is unnecessary and driven by selfish interests that do not reflect the will of the people,” adding that such moves could create avoidable tension within the district.

He also cautioned against what he described as attempts to personalise political structures in the region, saying: “Politics should not be reduced to a tool for control or family domination. It must remain focused on service and development.”

Eboh argued that Nwoko has delivered notable constituency projects since assuming office, particularly in rural road construction, electrification, education support, potable water provision, and empowerment programmes.

He said these achievements have strengthened the senator’s standing among constituents in Delta North.

“The senator has gone beyond expectations in representing his people. His focus has remained on development and legislative duties that contribute to national progress,” Eboh said.

He further praised Nwoko’s advocacy for Anioma identity and recognition, describing it as a significant contribution to the political and cultural consciousness of the region.

“His efforts in promoting Anioma identity will be remembered as an important milestone in our political history,” he added.

The APC chieftain maintained that Nwoko represents unity and stability in Delta North, urging stakeholders in constituencies such as Aniocha/Oshimili to resist internal divisions that could weaken the party’s influence.

“He should not be distracted by unnecessary political contestation,” Eboh said, insisting that continued stability in the district depends on sustained support for the senator.

Eboh also called on constituents to back Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as political realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections begin to take shape.
