Darris Straughter, a disabled man, is suing Rick Ross for not receiving the alleged shuttle bus he was promised.

In June, Ross hosted his annual Car & Bike Show at Ross’ sprawling mansion, a 235-acre estate known as “The Promise Land.” The show promises a dazzling showcase of the finest cars and bikes from across the country, accompanied by celebrity guests, live music, and delectable food, as highlighted on the event’s official website.

Straughter was excited to be an attendee, even paying for his ticket, travel, and lodging in advance. Unfortunately, he was unable to go, as the wheelchair-accessible shuttle bus allegedly never arrived to pick him up as promised. As a result, Straughter has filed a lawsuit against Ross for alleged breach of contract, unjust enrichment, and violation of the Americans With Disabilities Act. He’s seeking damages, and requesting an order that will require the car show to accommodate those with disabilities in the future.

As reported by TMZ, Straughter and his lawyer John Hoover Esq. claim the organizers did not reach out to him after he initially reached out.

According to his LinkedIn page, Straughter suffered a traumatic spinal cord injury in 2018.

The lawsuit arrives two months after Ross received backlash on social media for the car show being unorganized according to fans. When he promoted the event on Instagram users flooded the comments sections with complaints about their experience.

“Y’all need to refund me my money for running out of wristbands and shutting down the shuttles after waiting in line for 3+ hours… idk what kind of operation yall were running here but about 800 ppl got scammed just at orange parking lot,” one top comment read.

Another user wrote, “He had kids running the shuttles at the orange location, there were almost 800 people that did not get in and lost their money. Grown men pushing women and children, it was a complete circus.”
