The statement reads in full:

“Distinguished Seniors and Colleagues,

It is my privilege and a great sense of camaraderie that I, Auta Nyada gladly felicitate the Executive and Members of NBA BRANCH ONDO, Ondo State on this great occasion of your Bar Week. You have proven to be astute Bar men and have continuously shown deep interest in the affairs of our nation, Nigeria.

The law week theme : ‘INSECURITY AND CORRUPTION AS A CHALLENGE TO NIGERIA’S DEMOCRACY: THE ROLE OF LAW IN SECURING THE NATION’ touches on current occurrences and this is another opportunity to identify possible lasting solutions to the insecurity and corruption bedevilling the state of our nation.

The role of law in our security cannot be overemphasized, the reason I am pleased with the choice of panel and discussants whom I trust shall go to great lengths in expounding the theme, thereby creating an awakening of our minds on the role of law in securing the nation which as lawyers we are aware is fundamental to our nation’s existence.

We cannot forget that Democracy remains the government of the people, by the people, and for the people, which can only be sustained by law.
