The Honourable Chief Justice of Delta State, Hon. Justice Marshall Umukoro has finally inaugurated the family court of the state in line with the Child’s Rights Law of the state.

The court is established to handle issues on child abuse and other related matters.

Below is the announcement:

It is hereby announced for the information of the general public, particularly Legal Practitioners, Child s Right activists and NGOs, that the Honourable Chief Judge of Delta State, Hon. Justice Marshal Umukoro, has inaugurated the Family Court in Delta State pursuant to the Child’s Rights Law of Delta State 2008.

The Family Court which operates at both High Court Level and Magistrate’s Court Level has its sitting venues and registries at the following locations:

I. High Court of Justice No. 4, Warri
2. High Court of Justice, Agbor
3. High Court of Justice, Ughelli
4. Magistrate’s Court No. 1, Asaba
5. Magistrate’s Court No. 1, Warri
6. Magistrate’s Court No. 1, Ughelli

Child’s rights and family causeslmatters can now he filed in the Family Court Registries designated above.
