The Immediate Past Assistant Secretary of the NBA Calabar, Mr. Daniel Kip, has said that The Bori Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association is his root.
Kip, made this remark on Monday while celebrating with the branch on her 10th Anniversary and Law Week.
He noted that It is a thing of joy to celebrate this Tin jubilee with the Branch.
“As a fresh graduate about to head to the Law School, I observed steps leading to the creation of Bori Branch years back.
“I also recall my Late Father; T. L. Kip, Esq. (may his soul rest in peace) was the pioneer Secretary of the Branch before his demise. This goes to show how rooted and entangled I am to the Branch.
“I, therefore, celebrate the successes of the Branch and extend my congratulations as she hosts her Annual Law Week for the year 2020/2021.
“The Lecture to be presented by the distinguished Learned Silk; Okey Wali, SAN, on the topic: “Taxation in Nigeria: The need for State control.” is indeed topical, especially at a time when Rivers State is taking the lead in disrupting the tax regime in the Country.
“I must thank the leadership of the Branch, ably led by Ledum Finor-Puene, Esq. for spearheading and executing this historical event. I also thank the Elders of the Bori Bar for providing the needed support and counsel.
“I wish my brothers and colleagues a memorable experience and fruitful deliberations.”
