The Nigeria Customs Service yesterday confirmed shutting down of a Roll-on Roll-off terminal in Lagos for allegedly tampering with government revenue.

The Service said the Clarion Bonded terminal located at Alakija, Amuwo Odofin area was shut down over alleged financial infractions in some of their transactions with the service.
The terminal has been on shutdown for the past two months.
Our correspondent also learnt that about 107 clearing agents who were found to have being involved in the unwholesome practice have had their licenses withdrawn.
Public Relations Officer of Tin Can Customs Command, Mr Uche Ejesieme said the terminal was shut down when the Tariff and Trade department of customs examined the terminal’s operations and discovered irregularities.
With this development, cargoes are no longer stemmed to the affected Terminal, but existing ones inside the terminal can be taken out.
