Oleh branch of the Nigerian Bar Association has indefinitely postponed her April Monthly General Meeting due to the deadly Coronavirus pandemic.

The Chairman of the branch, Sunny Adolor in a telephone conversation with TheNigerialawyer(TNL)said what informed the postponement is following the professional advisories issued by the relevant domestic and international authorities on measures to prevent the spread of novel COVID-19.

The resolution for the postponement of April edition of the regular meeting was taken in the well attended executive meeting of the branch which was held on Friday the 3rd of April 2020.

Adolor, also said that the branch has set up a committee to monitor the enforcement of the Directives on preventive measures to curb the spread of Corona Virus, including the sit at home order, made by the Governor of Delta State, with the primary aim of ensuring that those saddled with the responsibility of enforcement do so without violation of the rights of citizens.

The monitoring committee of human Right violations is to be headed by the vice chairman of the branch Felix osayuki obasohan Esq, other members of the committee are Isreal, Onochoja.Esq Jeslor Ndukwe, Esq. Eni Umukoro Esq. and HRM Oba Olarewaju. Esq.

The chairman urged members of the branch not to hesitate to report any Human right abuse within the jurisdiction of the branch which covers four Local Government Areas in Delta State, Isoko South, Isoko North, Ndokwa East and Ndokwa West respectively.
