The British High Commission in Nigeria has offered a free 30-day visa vignette replacement for Nigerians who were due to travel to the United Kingdom pre-pandemic.

This is contained in a statement issued which was sighted by TheNigeriaLawyer, titled “Update on VAC services from the BHC Nigeria”.

Meanwhile, this is coming shortly after the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika announced on Monday the decision of the Federal Government to reopen international flights.

Thus, the British High Commission noted that there might be delay in terms of operations at its Visa Application Centres.

“As we reopen our VACs in Nigeria, we continue to face a challenging operating environment due to the ongoing pandemic. There may be some delays in normal services standards, whilst the operation starts.

“We regret the inconvenience caused and thank customers for their patience . We will resolve all outstanding cases as soon as possible.”

However, it noted that a 30-day visa vignette replacement is hereby granted to Nigerians traveling to UK either for purposes of work, study or rejoining with family.

“As a result of the disruptions to travel caused by COVID-19, we are experiencing high demand for replacement vignettes for 30-day visas to travel to the UK for work, study or to join family.

“If an individual’s 30-day visa to travel to the UK for work, study or to join family has expired, or is about to expire, they can request a replacement visa with revised validity dates free of charge until the end of this year. This does not apply to other types of visas. This process will be in place until the end of 2020. The replacement visa will be valid for 90 days.’

“To request a replacement visa, individuals can arrange to return their passport to their Visa Application Centre in Nigeria without an appointment.” The notice concluded.
