The Chief Judge of Lagos State High Court, Honourable Justice Kazeem O. Alogba, has released another Practice Direction on cases that are to be heard remotely during this Covid-19 pandemic.

The said Practice Direction seen by TheNigeriaLawyer (TNL) is dated 15th day of May, 2020 and made in furtherance to the earlier one dated 4th of May, 2020

It restricts cases that can be heard remotely to Fundamental Rights enforcement applications, Originating Motions, etc

“Each Court may hear cases which can be fully heard or prosecuted by affidavit evidence only such as – Originating Summon, Fundamental Human Rights cases, Originating Motions, Judicial Review Applications, appeals and any other matter where oral evidence is not required” the Practice Direction reads
