Tiamiyu, of no fixed address, is facing a four-count charge of murder, armed robbery, selling Indian hemp and being in possession of dangerous weapons. The Prosecutor, Insp. Emmanuel Silas, told the court that the accused allegedly murdered a man yet to be identified on May 22, at Railway Line, Apapa, Lagos. He said that Tiamiyu was also found in possession of dangerous weapons which he used to dispose one Azeez Popoola of the sum of N83,000 and an I-tel phone. He said that the accused and others, who are at large, sold substance suspected to be Indian hemp. According to the prosecutor, the offences contravened Sections 231, 295 (a), 297 and 410 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011. The accused plea was not taken on the murder charge but pleaded not guilty to the charges of being in possession of dangerous weapons and conspiracy. The Senior Magistrate, Mrs Bola Folarin-Williams, ordered that Tiamiyu be remanded in prison pending advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) on the murder charge. Folarin-Williams, however, granted the accused N200,000 bail with two sureties in like sum on charges of being in possession of dangerous weapons and conspiracy. The case was adjourned till July 26.
