A Federal High Court in Kano has ordered substituted service of originating process on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, over a suit filed by Bar. Audu Bulama Bukarti seeking the commission to release the report of a forensic investigation carried out on Governor Abdullahi Ganduje’s alleged bribe-taking videos.

Recall that the applicant is challenging the EFCC over its refusal to furnish him with a Certified True Copy of the result of its forensic analysis over the alleged Ganduje bribery videos.

According to him, the refusal amounts to an unlawful infringement of his right to information under the Freedom of Information Act 2011.

While giving the verdict on Thursday, June 27, Justice Obiora Egwuatu, ordered that the EFCC be served with the Originating Process and all other court processes by substituted means in the suit vide pasting same at the respondent’s office at No 2. Hajj Camp Road, Fagge local government area of Kano State.

The judge added that photographic evidence of such service should be filed.

The case was, however, adjourned to October 8 for hearing, subject to proof of service.
