Acting President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Monica Dongban-Mensem

The Court of Appeal has announced that in view of the lock-down of interstate travels by the Federal Government, the court will remain shut for the period.

This is contained in a Notice made available to TheNigeriaLawyer (TNL) dated 4th of May, 2020 signed by the Chief Registrar of the Court, Aliyu Ibrahim, Esq.

The court said it has been sitting on matters that are essential, urgent and time-bound and had anticipated that the court would be more busy with the Government relaxation of the lock-down allowing staff on grade level 14 and above to resume work

“However, with the lock-down of interstate travels by the Federal Government and most of the court staff coming from surrounding states, it would be difficult for staff to come to work

“Accordingly, the Court will remain shut down for the period in question with effect from Monday the 4th May, 2020” the Notice reads
