The Chief Magistrate, E.U. Onoberhie (Mrs) sitting in Court 2 in Ughelli, Delta State, on Tuesday 6th March, 2018 arraigned and convicted a fake lawyer by name Anthony Obayendo, for impersonation and obtaining by false pretense. The accused person pleaded guilty to seven (7) out of the eight (8) count charges against him of which impersonation and obtaining by false pretense were included. The IPO of the Legal Section, Zone 5 Benin who also gave evidence of facts on the matter withdrew count number seven (7). The accused person had not pleaded guilty to the count. His Worship, E.U. Onoberhie (Mrs), in delivery the judgment found Anthony Obayendo guilty of Count 1 and sentenced him to 3 years imprisonment without fine. On count 2, he was sentenced to 4 years imprisonment, while on Count 3, 4, 5, 6, he was found guilty of all counts and thereafter sentenced to 3 years imprisonment without fine. According to the court, the punishments are to run concurrently.
