The Hon. Justice of the Court of Appeal made this statement in a goodwill message at the commissioning of the Centre on the 24th of October, 2018. According to her, the Alternative Dispute Resolution mechanism is a veritable tool in the resolution of disputes, as it is invariably part of human interactions. She said that the ADR helps in saving relationships, as well as encourage a continued relationship. Speaking on the Court of Appeal Mediation Centre ( CAMC), the Justice Zainab stated that the Judicial Centre was established in line with the extant laws to achieve the aim of smooth dispute resolution. According to her, the Centre would provide a platform that will encourage parties in reaching a resolution of their disputes in good faith, and in a fair and efficient manner. She also added that the Centre will improve access to justice as litigation has proven to be time consuming with the alarming congestion of cases in the system. ”The centre will improve access to justice, user confidence in court system, lightens the court’s dockets and invariably afford the commercial court, ample time for such matters or issues that are best solved through litigation”. No doubt, the Centre is well equipped with facilities of global standard, and this was rightly observed by the Justice in her remarks. Available services in the Centre include Video Conferencing, Transcription, Fund Management, Case Management, Secretarial/Administrative services, etc. The Recording services include 360 systems, New Instant Reply 2, Networked Digital Audio, 1000 Audio Courts at your Fingertips, Instant Sound Effect and Instant Music. Indeed, the Centre that was established in 2015 has paved the way for promoting a suitable form for the resolution of domestic and international disputes, as highlighted in the event program. The event was braced with the presence of dignitaries such as His Excellency, Mohammed A. Abubakar, Governor of Bauchi State, Hon. Justice Ibrahim Ndahi Aura, OFR, FCIArb (RTD) Chairman, JICAM Governing Board and former Chief Judge of Federal High Court who also gave a goodwill message, as well as Mr. Mohammed Mongano, ACIArb (UK), former Attorney General of Borno state, etc. The cutting of tape and commissioning of the Centre was done by the President of the Court of Appeal, Hon. Justice Zainab A. Bulkachuwa in the presence of the Governor of Bauchi State, notably represented by his Deputy, Arc. Audi Sule Katagum. TheNigerialawyer (TNL), in an earlier report, has announced the oncoming commissioning of the Jinada International Centre for Arbitration and Mediation, on the 24th of October, 2018.]]>
