Former NBA Lagos Branch Chairman, Lateef Omoyemi Akangbe, SAN, FCIArb(UK), has praised the newly elected leadership of the NBA Oji River Branch, describing their emergence as “a clear vote of confidence” from their colleagues in the legal profession.

In a goodwill message released on Sunday, Akangbe specifically congratulated Robert Iloabanafor, Nkemdilim Elobuike, and the entire newly elected executive team on what he termed their “well-deserved victory” at the recent branch elections.
The Senior Advocate noted that the electoral outcome represents “an acknowledgment of your dedication, integrity, and the trust they place in your ability to lead.”
Akangbe expressed confidence that the new leadership would usher in significant positive changes for the branch, stating: “I have no doubt that with you at the helm, the Branch is set for a new chapter marked by unity, professionalism, and progress.”
The former Lagos Branch Chairman emphasized the weight of responsibility that comes with leadership positions in the legal profession, noting that “Leadership is never just a title; it’s a call to serve with vision, fairness, and a heart for the collective good.”
In his message, Akangbe urged the new executive committee to approach their roles with dedication and purpose, expressing trust that they would “carry this responsibility with grace and purpose.”
He highlighted the importance of servant leadership in the legal profession, emphasizing that effective leadership requires putting the collective interests of branch members and the broader legal community first.
