*Seeks Court Order to Halt Defamation

Nigerian celebrity businessman and nightlife promoter, Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has filed a defamation lawsuit against a Kenyan woman, Hellen Ati, over her repeated claims that he fathered her child.

For months, Hellen Ati has publicly alleged that the socialite is the biological father of her son and has demanded that he take a DNA test to confirm or deny paternity. In her latest reaction to the suit, Ati posted a video online taunting Chief Priest and insisting she would not be silenced.

“Na Kenya we dey, not Nigeria where you think you can use your money,” she said, daring him again to undergo a DNA test. “If you’re not the father, you shouldn’t be afraid.”

In response to these continued allegations, Cubana Chief Priest has approached a Kenyan court seeking an interim injunction to restrain Hellen Ati from publishing or sharing defamatory content about him on any social media platform or public forum.

According to court documents filed under various provisions of Kenya’s Civil Procedure Rules (2010) and Computer Misuse and Cybercrimes Act (2018), the businessman is requesting:

  • The case be treated as urgent and heard ex parte in the first instance.
  • A temporary injunction stopping Ati or her associates from making further defamatory statements.
  • A court order to protect his constitutional rights under Articles 28, 31, 33(3), and 35(2) of the Constitution of Kenya.

The application reads in part:

“Pending the hearing and determination of this suit, a temporary injunction be and is hereby issued restraining the Defendant/Respondent from publishing, uploading, sharing, or disseminating defamatory content against the Plaintiff/Applicant.”

The court has not yet fixed a specific date for the hearing of the case, and Hellen Ati has yet to issue an official legal response to the suit, aside from her social media reaction.

Cubana Chief Priest has repeatedly denied all paternity claims and maintained that he has no connection to Hellen Ati or her child.
