The special cocktail ceremony organized in their honour took place at Rockview Classic Hotel, Wuse 2, FCT Abuja on Sunday, the 23rd of September, 2018. While giving the award plaques to the awardees, the President of ICMC, Chief Emeka Obegolu, FICMC, FCIArb (UK), said that the members had given their time, resources and have also sacrificed a lot for the progress of the institute. The President on behalf of the institute presented an award of recommendation to the Acting Chief Judge of Ogun state, Hon Justice, Mosunmola Dipeolu as a fellow and a believer in mediation as an alternative to other dispute resolution mechanism. He lauded the Hon Justice, Mosunmola Dipeolu for the good works they are doing in Ogun state in the area of mediation and conciliation. “We have heard from the chairman of Abeokuta branch of the NBA on the giant strides recorded by my Lord and her predecessor since she is in office. “Entrenching mediation and conciliation as alternative means of resolving disputes; this is indeed a privilege for us as an institute to be part of the history in dispute resolution.” The first Vice President of the institute, Mrs. Nwagbo Margaret while congratulating the honorees said that it gives her a special pleasure to be a member of the peacemaker institute. “Going by the pedigrees of the people we are talking about tonight, they really deserve the honour. “We are expecting so much from them; the country needs the pedigrees of these people, which is the new future”. Dr. Agada Elachi, who spoke particularly about Mr. Tanimu S. Inuwa, said that it is always a rare opportunity to celebrate people who have worked hard. “He is a hard working and distinguished practitioner within the confines of INEC, particularly at the legal department. “We are not only proud that you are a member of the institute, you are also a fellow of the institute.” The honorees include: Acting Chief Judge of Ogun state, Hon Justice, Mosunmola Dipeolu, Mr. Chinonye Obiagwu, Past Registrar of the Institute, Prof. Offornze Amucheazi, lecturer at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra state, Mr. Tanimu S. Inuwa, etc. Elder Paul Ananaba, SAN, was ably represented as well. Hon Justice, Mosunmola Dipeolu thanked the institute for the honour given to others and of course, himself. “I am overwhelmed. I really appreciate this. When I was came here I thought I was invited to a cocktail in honour of those who have been elevated to the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria, on getting here, the Chairman Abeokuta told me, I am one of the honorees. “I am delighted because this is the first time I am getting an award since I was appointed the acting Chief Judge of Ogun state. It is a land mark, something I cannot forget. Prof. Offornze Amucheazi, after receiving his award, thanked the institute and said that as part of the institute, he will always do his best to ensure that the institute remains the leading institute and the best in Africa. ]]>
