CITIZENSHIP BY MARRIAGE.
In Nigeria, a foreigner(Male) married to a Nigerian woman cannot acquire Nigerian Citizenship after marriage.
However, a foreigner (female) married to a Nigerian man may acquire Nigerian Citizenship by registration, after marriage.
See Section 26(2)(a) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999.
The position is different In the United States of America where all spouses of U.S. citizens becomes eligible for the U.S. green card/citizenship after marriage.
