* As Paul Usoro, SAN Presents Its Annual Report Period August 2018 To August 2019 at AGM

The Nigerian Bar Association has released the Annual Report for the period August 2018 to August 2019.

The Annual Report was released by NBA at its 2019 Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at Harbour Point, Wilmot Point Road, Off Ahmadu Bello Way, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Reacting to the earlier report the NBA President Paul Usoro, SAN, stated that the Association did not spend one billion rather it earned 700m out of which 400m is in fixed deposit account.

This was sequel to the discovery of some fundamental errors in the earlier published financial statement as submitted by the auditor.

“The authors of the reports had mistakenly published reports for two NBA National administrations (the present and a past administration) — and then lumped the both into one as if both were all Paul Usoro’s,” TheNigerialawyer gathered.

Below is photo of his financial statement.

Paul Usoro, after resumption of office, said he inherited liability of about 500 million, from the previous administration which is AB Mahmoud led administration.

Reacting to the allegation, the Chief of Staff to the Immediate President of the NBA (2016- 2018) Murtala Abdul-Rasheed, (MURRAY) has raised questions challenging the president to state the
particulars of the debt.

His statement reads below
“The Usoro regime should give further and better particulars of the debt he allegedly inherited from the ABM leadership
“It will be interesting to know ; Who the Creditors are. How much was owed each Creditor, What was the purpose of the debt and Whether the debt has been paid or not
“Various figures have been bandied since USORO took over on the 3ist of August 2018.
“As a regime which prides itself on transparency, the president should make Name the “thieves” rather than painting his Predecessor black in order to look good in the eyes of Lawyers.”
