The Chairman and the members of the Executives of the Nigerian Bar Association, Badagry Branch (Heritage Bar) hosted Chief Gadzama, SAN at the opening of the branch’s 2021 Law week with the theme “The future of Nigeria’s democracy in the midst of call for restructuring, clamor for resource control and ethnic self-determination: Striking a balance between call for all-inclusive federalism and secessionists’ call”

Chief Gadzama, SAN who was invited as the Key Note Speaker at the opening of the ongoing Law Week celebration was also persuaded to double as the Chair of the occasion as a result of the unavoidable absence of Professor Anthony Olagunju (Dean, Faculty of Law, Lagos State University) who was to Chair the event.

In his lecture, Chief Gadzama x-rayed the components of the theme of the event in bits and pieces and emphasised on the rule of law as the bedrock of the law profession. He charged members of the branch in particular and lawyers, in general, to do the right thing in any sphere of influence they find themselves and use the instrumentality of the law to engineer the society desirable for everyone to live without any hitch or hindrance. (attached herewith is a copy of the lecture).

Whilst delivering his lecture on “Corruption in the Nigerian Court: Its causes and economic consequences on lawyers and litigants” Mr. Femi Falana, SAN also admonished lawyers never to engage in sharp practices. The Learned Silk testified of the integrity of Chief Gadzama, SAN and praised him stating that Chief Gadzama has never been involved in any sharp practices and commended members of the Branch to emulate his good examples. He also advised Chief Gadzama to consider vying for the presidency of the NBA in 2022 as he is the best suited for the post and considering his commitment, dedication and the experience to bring on board, he will have the supports of all who mean well for the NBA.

The Chairman, on behalf of other members of the branch, appreciated Chief Joe-Kyari Gadzama, SAN for attending the event in person and for his commitment to the Bar affairs. He also wishes the Learned Silk a merciful, wonderful and prosperous diamond birthday celebrations in advance.

Other present at the event was Mr. Ebu-olu Adegboruwa, SAN who was represented by Mr. Adedoyin Adesoji Esq.
