The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has allocated responsibilities to its four newly confirmed deputy governors who resumed duties on Friday.

According to the apex bank, Dr. Bala Bello will oversee corporate services, Dr. Mohammed Sani is in charge of economic policy, while Mr. Philip Ikeazor will handle financial system stability.

Also, Mrs. Emem Usoro has been saddled with operations of the CBN.

The CBN governor, Mr. Olayemi Cardoso and the four deputies were screened and confirmed by the Senate on Tuesday.

In his remarks during the confirmation exercise, Cardoso promised to restore the CBN’s core mandate through transparency and compliance with its establishment Act.

He listed tackling the FX crisis as an immediate priority to ease economic downturn.

With the resumption of the new deputy governors, the CBN now has its full management team in place to drive the execution of Cardoso’s policy vision.

Their varied backgrounds and experience are expected to bring fresh perspectives towards repositioning the apex bank.

The new responsibilities underscore Cardoso’s focus on competent leadership to re-engineer the CBN and steer the economy forward.
