The Council of Legal Education (CLE) at the Nigerian Law School has announced a one-day shift in the date for the forthcoming November 2025 Call to the Bar Ceremony, moving it from Wednesday, November 26, to Tuesday, November 25. The adjustment aims to streamline proceedings for the anticipated influx of new lawyers, following the recent approval of Bar Final Resit Examination results.

In a public notice issued today, the CLE informed prospective barristers and the public of the change, emphasizing that all other aspects of the ceremony remain unchanged. Candidates are urged to update their travel and accommodation plans accordingly to ensure timely attendance at the prestigious event, which marks the formal admission of successful Bar Final examinees into Nigeria’s legal profession.
The announcement comes on the heels of the CLE’s fourth quarterly meeting for 2025, held virtually on Tuesday, October 28, under the chairmanship of Chief Emeka Ngige, SAN, OFR, Life Bencher. Among the key resolutions adopted was the approval of results from the July 2025 Bar Final (Resit) Examination, a critical step for hundreds of aspiring lawyers seeking readmission after prior attempts.
A total of 1,675 students participated in the resit examination. The performance metrics, as approved by the Council, are detailed below:
