A senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Afam Osigwe, has expressed sadness over the killing of his professional colleague, Chris Agidi, by kidnappers after months in captivity.

In a statement on Monday, Osigwe fondly recalled the victim as “Chris the Bar Man” from their days together serving in the executive committee of the NBA Abuja Branch between 2010-2012.
He described Agidi as dutiful, outspoken and one who loved the legal profession, making immense contributions to the Bar.
The SAN lamented that Agidi’s experience and industry over decades was brought to a tragic end by lethal kidnappers, exposing Nigeria’s security challenges.
“The lives of men and women who have spent years improving themselves in readiness for service are cut short by enemies of the State,” he decried.
While grieving the loss, Osigwe called on security agencies to ensure Agidi’s killers are brought to book as investigations continue.
The late lawyer was a legal assistant to a serving federal senator before his abduction and subsequent murder by his hostage takers – a fate that has befallen increasing numbers amid rampant kidnappings nationwide.
