The Federal Government has ordered security agencies to fish out the suspect who allegedly stabbed one Elvis Omoiro with a broken bottle over a political disagreement in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.

The government also directed the police to ensure the arrest and prosecution of the suspect within the confines of the law.

Omoiro, was reportedly stabbed on various parts of his body by his neighbour, Best Uduophori, because he allegedly celebrated the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari at the Election Petition Tribunal.

Unconfirmed report claimed that Uduophori is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, operates a pub around Okoloba area of the city and is reportedly at large.

The Minister of State for Niger Delta Affairs, Festus Keyamo (SAN), who is a native of the area gave the order on Saturday, saying he had contacted the Divisional Crime Officer of the area.

He revealed this via his Twitter handle, saying he had demanded that the medical bills of the victim be directed to him for payment.

Keyamo tweeted, “I have already taken up this matter. I sent one of my SA’s to the hospital and asked them to send me all the medical bills. I also spoke with the victim and assured him of justice. I then contacted the DCO of Ekpan Police Station to ensure the culprit is arrested and brought to book.”
