The All Progressives Congress, APC, has released the names of 47 senatorial aspirants who were not cleared to participate in the party’s Senate primary elections ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The list was contained in a statement issued on Monday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka.

According to Morka, the screening exercise was conducted by the party’s designated screening committees in line with established procedures and guidelines.

The APC, however, did not state the specific reasons the affected aspirants were not cleared.

Notable names on the list include former Bayelsa East senator, Ben Murray-Bruce, and Benson Agadaga, who also sought clearance for the same senatorial district.

Rivers West recorded the highest number of affected aspirants in a single senatorial district, with Oyukaye Flag Amachree, Tamunobaabo Wemike Danagogo, Jack-Rich Tein T.S., and Banigo Ipalibo all failing to secure clearance.

Zamfara also recorded a high number of disqualified aspirants, with seven persons across Zamfara Central, North and West senatorial districts not cleared by the party.

The affected aspirants include Hamish Idris and Abdurman Kwacham from Adamawa North; Chimzobam Kingsley Nnalue from Anambra North; Donald Daunemigita from Bayelsa West; Ben Murray-Bruce and Benson S. Agadaga from Bayelsa East.

Others are Daniel Effiong Asuquo from Cross River South; Oden Ibiang O. Ewa from Cross River Central; Marian Nnamaka Ogoha-Ali from Delta North; Usman J. Wowo and Abubakar Umar Abdullahi from the FCT; Adam Mouktar Mohammed from Jigawa South/West; and Garba Musa Mai Doki from Kebbi South.

Also not cleared were Kollo B. Jiya from Kwara North; Olutola John Onijala, Awolola Muritala and Adeleke Emmanuel Gbenga from Kwara South; Abdullahi Tanko Zubairu from Nasarawa North; and Usman Muhammed Elegu, Yusuf Moh’d Agabi and Ari Ali Muhammed from Nasarawa South.

In Niger State, Muhammed Rabiu Sadiq, Muhammed Bello A., and Bello Bawa Bwari were not cleared for Niger South.

In Oyo State, the affected aspirants are Ademola Wasiu Alli and Faozey Oladotun Nurudeen from Oyo Central; Ajimobi Wasiu Adegboyega from Oyo North; and Kolapoboye Kola Daisi and Akinremi Alade Bolaji from Oyo South, while Hameed Afeez Repete was also listed under Oyo Central.

In Plateau, Gyang Yaya Zi San was not cleared for Plateau North, Napoleon Binkap Bah for Plateau South, and Usman Ephraim Gar for Plateau Central.

For Rivers State, apart from the four aspirants listed under Rivers West, Barry Balera Mwara was not cleared for Rivers South-East.

Other affected aspirants include Bello Abudullahi Bodejo from Taraba Central and Hassan H. Kafayos from Yobe North.

In Zamfara, those not cleared are Sanusi Ibrahim Garachi, Aliyu Abubakar, Muhammad Bashir Maru and Hassan Muhammad Gusau from Zamfara Central; Abubakar H. Moriiki and Bilyaminu Yusuf from Zamfara North; and Isyaka Ajiya Anka from Zamfara West.
