*Says ‘Each Of Us Has An Obligation To Give Back To Our Communities’.

A candidate for NBA Representative to the General Council of the Bar, Dave Okwun-Kalu, who is also the immediate past Chairman NBA Ohafia Branch, Dave Ndara Okwun-Kalu, AICMC, has felicitated with the leadership and members of NBA Bwari Branch on the occasion of their 2022 Annual Law Week.

His goodwill message reads in part: “It is great with delight that I identify with NBA Bwari Branch (Cradle Bar) on the advent of her 2022 Annual Law Week aptly themed: STATE OF THE NATION: WHERE ARE THE LAWYERS?

“The Law Week focuses on the roles we need to embrace to get our dear nation out of the very heights she has fallen.

“It was Janet Reno, the 78th US Attorney-General, who once said: “Being a lawyer is not merely a vocation. It is a public trust, and each of us has an obligation to give back to our communities.”

“The theme therefore provides for serious soul searching amongst us as we strive to correct the gradual erosion of ethical values in our profession and give back to our communities.

“As I felicitate with the Cradle Bar, I am much constrained to appreciate the leadership and the organisers for their effective efforts, especially for their choice of keynote speaker, Senator Shehu Sani, who no doubt would present a piece that would trigger a conscientious out view of our (collective) responsibility to our nation.

“I am positive that participants will come of the various activities of this year’s Law Week better and well equipped to chart a clean clear course for our nation.

“May I therefore most fervently wish you all the best of deliberations, the coolest of interactions and smoothest of bonding all through your week.

“It is my prayer that all participants find the event rewarding.

“Long Live NBA Bwari!!! Long Live NBA!! Long Live Nigeria!”
