As the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) mobilizes its members to begin nationwide strike on Monday, 28 September, over increase in fuel price and electricity tariffs, the National Union of Banks, Insurance, and Financial Institutions Employees (NUBIFIE) has directed all its members to comply fully with the directive.

This is contained in a circular by the National Union of Banks, Insurance and Financial Institutions Employees signed by its General Secretary, Mohammed I. Sheikh

The circular reads in part, “The National Executive Council (NEC) of Nigeria Labour Congress in their meeting on Tuesday 22nd September, 2020 resolved to embark on nationwide strike as from Monday 28th September, 2020 over hike in the pump price of petrol and Electricity tariff”

Therefore, the circular calls on all state directors of the union to ensure compliance

“In this regard, you are therefore directed by this letter to ensure total compliance of this directive by your organization/Zonal council” the circular further reads

The Union promised to keep members posted as events unfold
