Mrs. Victoria Oyedepo, wife of renowned Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) prosecutor and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Rotimi Oyedepo, has earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Nursing Science from Babcock University, Ilisan-Remo, Ogun State.

She was formally conferred with the doctorate degree during the university’s 14th convocation ceremony held on Thursday, where she was celebrated for her outstanding academic performance and impactful research in the field of public health nursing.

A mother of four, Mrs. Oyedepo’s academic journey culminated in the successful defense of her dissertation titled “Effect of Educational Intervention on Knowledge and Self-Reported Preventive Practices of Non-Communicable Diseases Among Teachers in Selected Local Government Areas, Lagos State, Nigeria.”

Her work, which focused on improving community health through education and awareness, was supervised by Professor Patience Edoho Samson-Akpan, with Professors Adeshola Ogunfowokan and Isaiah Abolarin serving as external and internal examiners respectively.

Following the ceremony, a private reception was held in her honour at the university’s guest house, where family, friends, academic colleagues, and members of the legal community gathered to celebrate her achievement.

The Oyedepo family expressed profound gratitude to God and acknowledged the support system that sustained her through the demanding years of doctoral studies.

Mr. Rotimi Iseoluwa Oyedepo, SAN, widely known for his fearless prosecution of high-profile corruption cases for the EFCC, was also commended for his steadfast support throughout his wife’s academic pursuit. His dual commitment to the pursuit of justice and family has continued to earn him respect both in legal and public service circles.

Mrs. Oyedepo’s accomplishment has been hailed as a beacon of inspiration to working mothers and women across the country who juggle career, family, and academic aspirations. Her success story underscores the power of resilience, faith, and determination.

Observers say the Oyedepos exemplify a model of excellence and service — one that blends national duty with personal achievement — offering hope for a more educated, healthy, and accountable society.
