Presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso accused his Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) counterpart, Atiku Abubakar of lying yesterday when he (Atiku) told Nigerians that the two parties were discussing a possible alliance ahead of the forthcoming presidential election.
Kwankwaso also said that Nigerians will be shocked by the outcome of the election, adding that he will win on the first ballot because of the acceptability of the NNPP across the north.
Exuding confidence that he will emerge the winner of the election, the former Kano State governor denied being in talks for a possible alliance with the presidential candidate of the PDP ahead of the presidential election.
Atiku had told the Hausa Service of the BBC that he was currently holding talks with the candidates of the NNPP and Labour Party (LP) respectively, saying one of them may likely step down and work with him.
But speaking on Sunrise Daily on Channels Television monitored in Abuja, Kwankwanso describe such statement as lies as he was not involved in any form of alliance talk with any candidate in the election, adding that he has not seen the former vice president face-to-face since leaving the PDP.
The Kano State chapter of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) has announced that the party’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar will be in the state on February 9 for his presidential rally.
