The Edo State Judicial Commission has announced vacancy for the call of expression of interest for the appointment of eight (8) judges of the High Court.

In the Notice made available to TheNigerialawyer (TNL), it was stated that interested, fit and proper applicants are requested to attach their CV and credentials to their applications

Qualifications:

(i) Active successful practice at the Bar including satisfactory presentation of cases in court as a legal practitioner either in private practice or as a Legal Officer in any Public Service and must have been called to the Nigerian Bar for not less than 10 (ten) years. This is in addition to evidence of 10 (ten) commenced cases in the last 5 (five) years of judgement obtained in any superior court of record; or

(ii) satisfactory and consistent display of sound and mature judgment in the office as a Chief Registrar or Chief Magistrate/Area Court President Gd. 1 and/or

(iii) credible record of teaching law, legal research in a reputable university and publication of legal works

All prospective candidates are required to submit their expression of interest to the Secretary, Edo State Judicial Commission, High Court Building, Sapele Road, P.M.B 1505, Benin City not later than 14th day of May, 2020.
