Delta State Judicial Service Commission has called for express for appointment as Judge of High Court of Delta State.

The commission disclosed this to the General Public in a letter dated 17th September, with Ref No.: JSCA/73/ Vol.2/350 and titled: “Vacancy Announcement: Call For Expression Of Interest For Appointment As Judge Of High Court Of Delta State.”

According to the letter signed for the Executive Secretary Judicial Service Commission, the call for expression is brought pursuant to Rule 3 of the 2014 revised Guidelines for the Appointment of Judicial Officers of All Supreme Courts of Record in Nigeria.

And letter states:
Following the announcement of vacancy in the office of Judge of High Court Bench for Delta State Judiciary, the Judicial Service Commission, by this notice, hereby calls for expression of interest from suitable candidates for appointment as Judge of the High Court of Delta State

REQUIREMENTS/COMPETENCIES.
To be eligible to apply for this appointment, the candidate must satisfy the following minimum requirements.
Applicant must be a legal practitioner in Nigeria and has been so qualified for a period of not less than ten (10) years with considerable knowledge and experience in the practice of the Law;

Applicant must be less than 65 years of age;
Applicant must be of good character and reputation with strong traits of diligence, hard work, honesty, integrity, sound knowledge of law and consistent adherence to professional ethics;

Applicant must have;
a). active successful practice at the Bar, including satisfactory presentation of cases in court as a Legal Practitioner either in private practice or as a Legal Officer in any Public Service and/or;
b). Satisfactory and consistent display of sound and mature judgment in the office as a Chief Registrar, Deputy Chief Registrar or Chief Magistrate and/or;
c). Credible record of teaching law, legal research in reputable University and publication or legal works.
