The Benue State Judicial Service Commission has called for the expression of interest for appointment as Judge of High Court of Justice in the State Judiciary. The Memo released by the Secretary to the State Judicial Service Commission reads:

“Pursuant to Rule 3 of the 2014 Revised Guidelines for the Appointment of Judicial Officers of All Superior Courts of Record in Nigeria, and following the announcement of vacancies in the office of Judge of High Court of Justice, Benue State, the Judicial Service Commission, by this notice, hereby call for an appointment as Judges of the High Court of Justice, Benue State.”

Intending applicants are to note the following minimum requirement for eligibility:

  1. applicants must be a legal practitioner in Nigeria and has been so qualified for a period of not less than (10) years with considerable knowledge of experience in the practice of Customary Law;
  2. applicant must be less than 65 years;
  • applicant must be of good character and reputation with strong traits of diligence, hard work, honesty, integrity, sound knowledge of law and consistent adherence to professional ethics;
  1. applicant must have:
  2. active successful practice at the Bar, including satisfactory presentation of cases inn court as a legal practitioner either in private practice or as a Legal practitioner either in private practice or as a Legal officer in any public Service; and/or
  3. satisfactory and consistent display of sound and mature judgement in the office as a Chief Registrar or Chief Magistrate, and/or
  4. Credible record of teaching law, legal research in a reputable University and publication of legal works.
