*Says Akintola SAN Should Withdraw His Statement

Prominent Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Femi Falana SAN has expressed disappointment over a statement credited to Niyi Akintola SAN where the latter referred to immediate Past President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Olumide Akpata as “that boy” amongst other denigrating comments including a purported pact by Yoruba lawyers to isolate his administration from 2020 to 2022.

Falana noted that the comments by Akintola confirmed his claims about the growing stratification of the legal profession.

“The irredentist statement credited to Chief Niyi Akintola SAN has once again confirmed the growing stratification in the legal profession.”

Falana further stressed that the description given to the immediate past President of the Bar by Akintola SAN smacks of empty arrogance of monumental proportion, and demanded for a withdrawal of the statement.

He said; “The description of the immediate past President of the NBA, Olu Akpata Esq as the “that boy” or “eleyi” smacks of empty arrogance of monumental proportion. It is a jejune statement that ought to be withdrawn by the learned Senior Advocate.”
