Former Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Lagos Branch, Lateef Omoyemi Akangbe SAN, FCIArb(UK), has been announced as one of the panelists at the ongoing 2025 NBA Lagos Annual Law Conference.

Akangbe, a respected Senior Advocate of Nigeria and former branch leader, will speak on the panel themed “The Business of Law – Profitability Without Compromising Professionalism” scheduled for Tuesday, 17th June 2025 at 1:00 p.m.

In a statement shared ahead of the session, Akangbe expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to engage with colleagues on an issue he described as both “timely and necessary,” especially in today’s rapidly evolving legal landscape.

“I will be sharing thoughts on how legal practitioners can build profitable practices while upholding the ethical and professional standards that define our noble calling,” Akangbe said.

He emphasized the importance of maintaining the dignity of the legal profession while embracing change, noting that “the legal profession must evolve—but with purpose, dignity, and resolve.”

The session is expected to spark rich conversations around sustainable legal practice models, the business of law, and the delicate balance between ethics and earnings, particularly for both emerging and established lawyers in the profession.
