Exactly a week after abductors of the students and staff of the College of Agriculture and Animal Science in Zamfara State were freed, gunmen again Wednesday morning kidnapped scores of students and some members of staff of Kaya Day Secondary School in Maradun Local Government Area of the state.

Sources said the bandits, who stormed the school on motorcycles, started shooting sporadically to scare people away and later abducted the students and some teachers.

The locals said over 100 students were abducted from the school.

In reaction to the incident, the state Governor, Bello Matawelle, has ordered the immediate closure of all the schools in the state till further notice.

A statement by the Director of Press, Yusuf Idris Gusau, said the measure became necessary in view of the incessant abduction of school children in the state.

The state Police Command is yet to react to the development as at the time of going to press.
