A candidate for the office of General Secretary of the Nigerian Bar Association, Afam O. Okeke, Esq., has congratulated the NBA Yenagoa Branch on the occasion of its Law Week programme, describing the theme, “Securing the Future,” as timely and important.

Okeke, who is the immediate past Chairman of the NBA Abuja Branch, said the theme underscores the need to build resilient legal and institutional frameworks capable of protecting sustainable national assets across Africa.

In a goodwill message to the Branch, he commended the NBA Yenagoa Branch for its continued commitment to advancing legal discourse and strengthening the justice system in Nigeria.

According to him, the legal profession has a critical role to play in shaping policies that promote accountability, good governance and long-term development.

He said, “On the occasion of the Law Week Programme of the Nigerian Bar Association Yenagoa Branch, themed ‘Securing the Future,’ I extend warm goodwill and commend the Branch for its continued commitment to advancing legal discourse and strengthening the justice system in Nigeria.

“This timely theme underscores the importance of building resilient legal and institutional frameworks capable of protecting sustainable national assets across Africa. It also highlights the critical role of the legal profession in shaping policies that promote accountability, good governance, and long-term development.”

Okeke said he looked forward to the insightful conversations and knowledge-sharing that the gathering would inspire, especially with distinguished legal minds and stakeholders in attendance.

He also extended special recognition to the keynote speaker, Prof. PLO Lumumba, noting that his depth of experience and thought leadership would enrich discussions on “Sustainable National Assets Protection in Africa: Opportunities, Risks and Regulatory Pathways.”
