Former National Welfare Secretary of the Nigerian Bar Association, Adesina Adegbite (AA) FICMC, has heartily congratulated the Chairperson, the Executive Officers, the Law Week Planning Committee and all members of FIDA Kwara Branch on the occasion of the Annual FIDA.

FIDA Kwara Chapter has on the 10th began its Week with the theme  “SPEAK OUT with the hashtags: RAPE AND DOMESTIC VIOLENCE”. The event is slated to come to an end on the 16th of October.

AA in his statement on Tuesday made available to TheNigerialawyer(TNL), said the topic is most desirable at this critical time.

“I am aware that the Week is aimed at creating awareness, sensitizing women, children, and vulnerable persons, on the urgent need to speak out against personal sexual violations and abuse generally.

“I am particularly delighted that FIDA has remained consistent in championing the cause of the vulnerable persons. Rape and Domestic or Gender-based Violence is dangerously becoming an endemic that must be urgently wiped out with deliberate and sustainable action.

“Our laws must be strengthened and effectively enforced to ensure abusers face the wrath of the law while the victims get justice for being violated.

“It is with great pleasure that I wish FIDA Kwara Branch, a most successful 2021 Law Week.”
