The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has unveiled its governorship candidates and their running mates for the 2027 general election in 28 states, formally presenting the individuals who will fly the party’s flag in the affected states.

The list was announced on Friday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, who said the candidates represent the ADC’s effort to provide Nigerians with what the party described as credible leadership and a viable political alternative.

Among prominent names on the list are Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour in Lagos State, former Attorney-General of the Federation Abubakar Malami in Kebbi State, Great Ogboru in Delta State, Halliru Dauda Jika in Bauchi State, Herman Iorwase Hembe in Benue State and Ahmad Babba Kaita in Katsina State.

In Rivers State, the party named Gabriel Pidomson as its governorship candidate, with Okungba David Amapakaye as his running mate, while Isa Mohammed Ashiru will lead the ADC ticket in Kaduna State alongside Kantiok Irmiya Ishaku.

Abdullahi said the candidates were the men and women who would carry the ADC banner in the respective states and represent the party’s commitment to presenting an alternative platform to Nigerians in the 2027 elections.

The unveiling marks another major step in the ADC’s preparations for the general election as the party continues to assemble its candidates for governorship and other elective positions across the country.
