The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has stepped up preparations for its 2026 National Convention, with the Rainbow Event Centre in Abuja fully adorned in the party’s colours ahead of Tuesday’s event.

The convention, themed “So the Nation May Work,” is expected to attract key stakeholders, party leaders, and delegates from across the country.

As of Monday evening, final arrangements were in top gear at the venue, with the Chairman of the Convention Planning Committee and former Rivers State Governor, Liyel Imoke, personally overseeing the setup.

Also present at the venue were prominent members of the organising committee, including former Imo State Governor Emeka Ihedioha; former President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Olumide Akpata; former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Kola Ologbondiyan; and former Director-General of the PDP Governors’ Forum, C. I. D. Maduabum, among other coalition figures.

Decorators were seen working round the clock to ensure the venue was ready ahead of the event, while early-arriving party supporters gathered at the hall in anticipation of proceedings.

At the entrance of the venue, traders selling water, soft drinks, and other items were also on ground, preparing to attend to participants expected to throng the location.

The party had earlier opted for the Rainbow Event Centre in Garki, Area 8, Abuja, after failing to secure approval to use Eagle Square and the Moshood Abiola National Stadium Velodrome.

More than 300 delegates are expected at the convention, where key agenda items include the affirmation of the National Working Committee led by David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola, as well as the approval of a revised party constitution and manifesto.
