Abuja Chamber of Commerce Dispute Resolution Centre (DRC-ACCI) has moved to its permanent office, a world class Centre equipped with ultra-modern infrastructure.

The Centre, in a statement issued in Abuja on Monday 23rd November 2020 and signed by the Registrar-General of the Centre, Aisha Ado Abdullahi said the move was a major boost to the activities the centre and will effectively facilitate successful resolution of disputes.

Recall that since its inception in 2017, the Centre had remained in a temporary office whilst its Secretariat was being completed.

According to the Registrar General, the move is a momentous step by the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) towards establishing and maintaining a world class Centre for commercial dispute resolution in Abuja, Nigeria and Africa in general.

While acknowledging the support of the National Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), Aisha said the DRC-ACCI is now a National Centre for Dispute Resolution.

She noted that the Centre provides dispute resolution services through the network of chambers of commerce across the country and beyond.

“The establishment of the Dispute Resolution Centre is a momentous step towards having a well institutionalized and better coordinated arbitration centre for Dispute Resolution” she said.

“The Centre has made efforts to place Abuja on the path to being on a par with other major financial hubs that are highly attractive to both local businesses and international investors due to its capacity for speedy commercial dispute resolution. The new facility with the modern infrastructure will provide adequate and better platform that will aid to achieve its mandates in line with international best practices. It has indeed offered better platform with the capacity and goodwill to serve the ever-increasing dispute resolution needs of its members and indeed the general public” she added.

“The Centre’s facilities such as the meeting rooms and hearing rooms are open for use by the general public; they are equipped with contemporary facilities to serve its purposes accordingly” she further said.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the governing Council of the DRC ACCI, Chief Emeka Obegolu, thanked the Abuja business community for their faith and continuing patronage of the services offered by the Centre. He commended the Prince Adetokunbo Kayode SAN led management of the organized private sector in the FCT and the Hon. Attorney General of the Federation for the confidence reposed in the Centre as a regional centre for dispute resolution.
