According to the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, Kayode spoke on Saturday in Abuja at the closing ceremony of the 12th Abuja International Trade Fair, which held from Sept. 21 to Oct. 7. The theme of the fair is: `Returning Nigeria to the Path of Sufficiency Through Non-Oil Exports.’ “The chamber is always available for partnership for the development of the economy, government agencies should go into public-private-partnership because without them there would not be development,’’ he said. Kayode said that the fair served as an exhibition that enabled companies, organisations and individuals showcase their latest products and services. He added that the theme was in response to the spirit and intent of the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan. According to him, the chamber believes that the economy must become externally diversified with the non-oil sector becoming the main source of earning foreign exchange. Kayode said the theme was also a call for all stakeholders to support efforts and initiatives to promote local production of goods and services to achieve self-sufficiency and stimulate export. He said the fair was meant to promote accelerated development of industry, trade and commerce, engender real growth and diversification of the Nigerian economy by promoting non-oil exports. Awards and certificates were presented to NASCO Groups, Ghana Company and the Federal Inland Revenue Service, as the best food, foreign and consistence exhibitors respectively, among others.]]>
