He also described her death as a loss not only to Abia but Nigeria in general, given her invaluable contributions to the cause of justice.” Ikpeazu expressed deep sympathy and empathy for the family of the bereaved. The governor wrote: “Abia State has lost one of her best!!!we take solace in mama’s faith and hope for eternal life, knowing that we mourn but with hope.’’ NAN reports that Justice Uche was the first female high court judge in the old Imo and Abia. In a statement made by the deceased son on behalf of the Uche family, Justice Uche, was a founding member of the National Association of Women Judges and a matron of the Federation of Female Lawyers. Aged 83 years, she is survived by her children, Chief Chris Uche, SAN, Dr. Rose Uche, Mr. Gordy Uche, SAN, Mr. John Uche, several grand children, great grandchildren, siblings, in-laws and a host of other relations.
