President Bola Tinubu has commended renowned legal luminary, Chief Wole Olanipekun, SAN, for donating a Mother and Child Maternity Complex to the people of Ikere-Ekiti in Ekiti State.

In a goodwill message personally signed by him, Tinubu described the gesture as another landmark contribution by Olanipekun to humanity, healthcare delivery and community development.

The President congratulated the former Nigerian Bar Association President on what he called an outstanding and impactful intervention in the health sector, noting that the project would improve access to quality healthcare for women and children.

Tinubu said Olanipekun remained a shining example of public-spirited Nigerians who deploy their personal resources to uplift communities and improve the welfare of the people.

According to him, the maternity complex is a continuation of Olanipekun’s long-standing philanthropic legacy, which he said has positively touched lives across different sectors over several decades.

The President praised the senior lawyer for distinguishing himself not only as a leading figure in the legal profession, but also as a community leader, patriot and humanist whose contributions go beyond law.

Tinubu also commended the Wole Olanipekun Foundation for its role in advancing human development through scholarships and social empowerment initiatives targeted at undergraduates, law students, the poor and vulnerable members of society.

He further highlighted Olanipekun’s investments in education, as well as his commitment to promoting the Christian faith, social integration and inclusiveness in Ikere-Ekiti, Ekiti State and Nigeria at large.

Describing the Newcruse Mother and Child Maternity Complex as a state-of-the-art medical facility, Tinubu expressed confidence that it would provide first-rate healthcare services to residents of Ikere-Ekiti and neighbouring communities.

He, however, urged the Ekiti State Government and the people of Ikere-Ekiti to take ownership of the facility by ensuring its proper use, maintenance and preservation for future generations.

“As a senior lawyer and community leader, a son of Ikere and a citizen of Nigeria, he has excelled beyond the imagination of any human being. He is a leading light of the legal profession in Nigeria and around the world, a worthy example of a patriot, giver and a humanist,” Tinubu stated.

“The Newcruse Mother and Child Maternity Complex is a state-of-the-art facility built to provide first-rate service to all who will use it. My charge to the government of Ekiti State and the people of Ikere is to take ownership, ensure proper use, and preserve the facility for continuous improvement and a centre of medical excellence for the present and future generation,” the President added.
