*Says His Appointment is a Square Peg in a Square Hole

The Security Situation Room has welcomed the newly appointed 47th Commissioner of Police of Edo State, CP Nemi Edwin-Iwo. The convener of the Security Situation Room, Douglas Ogbankwa Esq., expressed his belief that CP Edwin-Iwo’s appointment is a perfect fit for the state’s security needs.

In a statement released on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, Ogbankwa commended the outgoing Commissioner of Police, CP Funsho Adegboye, MNI, for his service and wished him the best in his future endeavors. He also prayed that God would grant CP Edwin-Iwo the wisdom to lead the security architecture of Edo State, which he described as one of the most complex states in Nigeria.

The Security Situation Room is optimistic that CP Edwin-Iwo’s appointment will lead to a seamless electioneering process for the upcoming Gubernatorial Elections, scheduled for September 21, 2024. Ogbankwa called on all political players to cooperate with the new Commissioner of Police to ensure a safe and peaceful environment for all.

“Policing is everyone’s responsibility, and understanding this trajectory plays a significant role in bringing about a better society for all,” Ogbankwa stated.

The Security Situation Room extended a warm welcome to CP Nemi Edwin-Iwo, referring to Edo State as “the heartbeat of the nation.”
