The arraignment of a nurse, Alfred Aderibigbe, at an Osun High Court for allegedly killing Sen. Isiaka Adeleke was yesterday put off till June 8. The judge, Justice Ayo Oyebiyi, was absent in court. News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Solicitor-General Mr. Dapo Adeniji agreed with Aderibigbe’s counsel, Mr. Soji Oyetayo, on the new date. Magistrate Olusegun Ayilara-led Coroner Inquest recommended Aderibigbe for prosecution, having shown that he gave Adeleke an overdose. Aderibigbe told the inquest the drugs were given to him by the deceased. He insisted he did not give the late senator an overdose. Chief Medical Director of Ladoke Akintola University Teaching Hospital (LAUTECH), Osogbo, Prof. Akeem Lasisi, confirmed that Adeleke died of drug overdose. The Consultant Pathologist, who carried out the autopsy, Dr. Taiwo Sholaja, also said the senator died of drug overdose.]]>
