Jibrin, who had been on a 17-month suspension, on Wednesday resumed plenary after the suspension placed on him was lifted by the House. He was pardoned on Tuesday, March 13 after writing a letter apologising to the House and having met all conditions given to him. Speaker of the House, Yakubu Dogara while presenting the letter to the House on Tuesday said Jibrin is free to resume his legislative duties. “He has fulfilled all the conditions by writing a letter to the House so he is free to resume his duties whenever he wants, if he so wishes,” Dogara told the House. The lawmaker representing Bebeji/Kiru Federal Constituency of Kano was suspended in September 2016 after the House of Representatives committee on Ethics and Privilege found him guilty of accusing the leadership of the House of Representatives of padding the 2016 budget.
