In its amended timetable and schedule of activities for the recall of Melaye, the notice of verification was scheduled to commence on yuesday. The amended timetable was made pursuant to the order of the Federal High Court, Abuja. However, INEC said all its efforts to serve the affected lawmaker with the notice of recall personally failed, saying that the senator failed to make himself available. The commission later approached the court to obtain an order for substituted service but the court declined and asked INEC to go and serve the senator personally. The latest on matter is that the lower court has disqualified itself from further hearing of the case pending the outcome of an appeal filed by the embattled senator at the Court of Appeal.]]>
