The South African, Lekganyane, had been convicted last year for the offence, after she pleaded guilty to the one count filed against her by the NDLEA. The two Nigerian siblings, with whom the South African allegedly conspired to deal in the hard drug, were arraigned on Tuesday before the Federal High Court in Lagos. The three counts pressed against them border on conspiracy, unlawful exportation of a banned drug and aiding and abetting. In the charge sheet, marked FHC/L/299c/16, the NDLEA said the defendants committed the offence between April and May, 2016. They were said to have been apprehended on May 20, 2016, at the Murtala Muhammad International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos. The prosecuting counsel for the NDLEA, Mr. Austin Nwagu, said the siblings acted contrary to and are liable to punishment under sections 14(b), 11(b) and 14(a) of the NDLEA Act Cap N30, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria. But when the charges were read to them, the siblings pleaded not guilty.
