The Chairman of Abuja Branch Mr Ezenwa Anumnu has called on the members to ignore the message from Celeb Dajan that members should disregard and dissociate themselves from the meeting, summoned by the branch Chairman Ezenwa, stating that it was unauthorized and unlawful. Mr. Ezenwa who is the elected chairman of the branch said”the meeting is going on as scheduled as it is convened by the Unity Bar as recognised by the AGM of the NBA which is the highest decision making body of the Branch.” “We will continue to run the affairs of the branch. There is no caretaker committee in charge of the branch as the activities have restrained by the Order of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory and we will initiate contempt proceedings against any officer of the Association that violates a court order no matter how highly placed,” he said. The meeting which is a monthly general meeting of the branch will hold today, the 5th of May, 2017 at the National Universities Commission (NUC) Maitama by 4pm. However, a member of the branch has called the action of the 1st vice Chair as rather unfortunate. He advised the National officers to focus their energies to resolving the development occasioned by the court order of the Federal High Court instead of meddling in a branch affair that has already being resolved by the AGM. Recall that on the 8th March, 2017, Justice Kekemeke of Apo High Court, FCT, in his ruling in the suit between Ezenwa Anumnu VS AB Mahmoud, ordered all Parties to maintain the res. He also advised Lawyer to the President, AB Mahmoud. SAN, to tell the president not to take further action in respect to conducting another election for the branch.]]>
