The Independent National Electoral Commission has uploaded more than 40 per cent of polling-unit results from Saturday’s Osun State governorship election to its Result Viewing Portal, IReV, as singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, raised concerns over the pace and manner of result transmission.

As of the period under review, 1,517 out of the expected 3,763 polling-unit results had been uploaded to the portal, representing 40.31 per cent of the total.
The uploads began as voting and result collation continued across the state amid heightened public scrutiny of the electoral process.
Earlier on Saturday, Davido had questioned what he described as a delay in the commencement of result uploads to IReV.
In a post on his X account at about 2:33 p.m., the singer called on INEC to provide timely updates and ensure transparency in the handling of polling-unit results.
“INEC, it is now 2:33 p.m., yet no result has been uploaded to the IReV portal. What is the delay? Nigerians deserve transparency and timely updates,” he wrote.
A short while later, results began appearing on the portal, with the number subsequently rising to 1,517 of the expected 3,763.
Davido, who has openly supported the Accord Party in the governorship election, also urged voters and party supporters to remain at their polling units until results were properly recorded and uploaded.
“Make sure your polling unit results are uploaded on IReV in your presence and make sure the figures are entered on eEC8A (electronic EC8A). We will follow our votes bumper to bumper!” he posted.
The singer subsequently raised another concern, alleging that reports had reached him that some Presiding Officers intended to enter polling-unit results only after reaching collation centres.
“It is being reported that some POs are saying they will only input results at the collation center,” Davido wrote.
He urged Accord supporters and other voters to insist that results be completed at the polling units, signed and transmitted to the IReV portal.
“All Accord supporters and voters should ensure the results are filled into the form EC8A, signed, and uploaded to the iRev,” he said.
“Insist on your right!!!! Call your staff to orderrrrrrrrrr @inecnigeria. Federal might will fail here.”
There was no immediate independent confirmation of Davido’s allegation that some Presiding Officers planned to delay the recording of results until reaching collation centres, and INEC had not, in the material available, issued a specific response to the claim.
The controversy over result transmission comes amid intense scrutiny of the Osun governorship election, with political actors and observers raising various concerns about alleged vote-buying, intimidation of voters, polling agents and journalists, as well as the conduct of some election officials.
Those claims remain allegations except where formally confirmed by the relevant authorities.
The election is being closely watched as incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party seeks another term against other candidates, including Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress.
Davido, who is Adeleke’s nephew, has been particularly vocal throughout the election period and has repeatedly used his social media platforms to raise concerns over the conduct of the poll and the safety of Accord Party supporters.
Ahead of the election, the singer had alleged that there were plans to arrest members of the Accord Party and urged supporters to remain vigilant.
He also called on international actors, including United States President Donald Trump, to monitor developments surrounding the election, citing concerns about possible violence, intimidation and disruption of the electoral process.
His latest intervention has, however, focused specifically on the recording, signing and electronic transmission of polling-unit results.
The upload of 1,517 results, representing 40.31 per cent of the expected total, indicates that result transmission was ongoing as collation continued across the state.
